chocolate lava cake for two

Valentine's day is fast approaching and I know that there are people out there that hate the day, love the day, or honestly don't give a flying fart about it. I am part of the group that honestly doesn't care. But I do care deeply about chocolate. So since I posted a delicious red velvet cupcake recipe that would be good for a group of people I thought it would be cool to share a recipe for just two people. I decided that a delicious molten chocolate lava cake is the best thing. Because who doesn't love a good chocolate lava cake? It's warm, it has a chocolate cake shell, and it has chocolate cake batter on the inside. Whats not to love? The molten inside is for sure my favorite part but the best part about this recipe is that its super easy to make. It doesn't require a lot of time, ingredients, or labor! How great is that?

Chocolate Lava Cake for Two

Serves two

INGREDIENTS:

  • 10 tablespoons of cake flour

  • 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder

  • 6 tablespoons of sugar

  • 1 egg

  • 2 tablespoon of oil

  • 4 tablespoon of milk

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

  2. In a medium sized bowl combine the flour, cocoa powder, and sugar together.

  3. Next add in the egg, oil, and milk. Whisk until there are no lumps and everything has been incorporated.

  4. Grease two ramekins with butter and then dust with cocoa powder. Be sure to shake off the excess coco powder.

  5. Equally divided the batter between the two ramekins.

  6. Bake for 8 minutes and once they are done carefully run a knife around the edge so that you loosen up the cake.

  7. Next, place a plate on top of one of the ramekin and quickly flip the ramekin over so that its resting on the plate. Carefully remove the ramekin.

  8. Serve with ice cream and eat immediately!
