the kfc tradition

For a couple years now we've been going to Sandy Hook in Jersey and its one of our favorite beaches to go to. Its clean, quiet, dogs are allowed, and its got a great community. But if we're looking for a quick beach to go to, we head to Rockaway in Brooklyn. Its got the best waves by far, lots of shells, and one time we found a bunch of clams! But whichever beach we decided to go to our actives are almost always the same. I read, tan, eat, people watch, and jump into the water. Basically, I'm a natural beach bum.

Of course, food is on the top three reasons why I love going to the beach. To be honest, food is always a top three reason for literally any occasion but the only time I have KFC specifically is when we're going to the beach. It's always swelteringly hot out, the a/c is blasting, we're going 60 mph headed towards the beach but will always make a pitstop to pick up a bucket of KFC chicken, 2 sides of mash (gravy included, obviously) , 1 side of mac and cheese, and a box of buttery biscuits. We stop at whichever KFC is on the way to the beach and trust me there is always one, especially when you're specifically looking for one. We get the goods, continue heading towards the beach, set up and by the time we get to the beach we're starving so we dig right in. There's literally nothing better than feeling the sand in between your toes, listening to the seagulls, the waves splashing, and eating some KFC chicken. That right there is a true Joey Tribbiani moment and I'm all for it.

My favorite appliances that help me create all my recipes!
Cusinart: It was a birthday present I got that I use all the time to make doughs, smoothies, sauces, & during the holiday it has a permenant place on my counter

Cast Iron: Comes pre seasoned, ready to use after a quick wash and makes some great eggs in the morning! Along with searing meats, toasting bread, & you can't forget corn bread!

Kitchen Aid: Literally a bakers best friend. It comes with a glass bowl so taking photos is a blast. Its really an investment but one worth making!
