garlic butter noodles & peas

Garlic, noodles, and peas. It's so easy to make yet so satisfying. Perfect for one of those nights where you just want something fast and delicious but don't want to order take out. It takes less than 15 minutes to make and you can even do it all in one pot if you're really in a hurry.

Most times that I make this dish I make it with fresh chopped garlic because it gives such a strong garlicky flavor that I LOVE but for the past couple times I have been using garlic powder. Mostly due to pure laziness to go out and get fresh garlic. I ran out of garlic about a week ago and I always keep forgetting to pick some up. Never the less it's still delicious of course and even faster to make but if you have the fresh stuff I'd say go for it!

I really like black pepper in this dish because it add that spicy component. You have the lusciousness from the butter, sweetness from the peas, and the spiciness from the black pepper. So don't hold back on it! Crack that black pepper right in!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/2 Bag of spaghetti

  • 3 Tablespoons of butter

  • 2 Teaspoons of garlic powder/chopped fresh garlic

  • 1/4 cup of green peas

  • Salt & pepper to taste

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. In a large pot of boiling water cook the noodles according to the instructions on the package.

  2. In another pan heat together the melt the butter on medium flame and add the garlic. Let the garlic get lightly browned and toasted. Not burnt. I repeat not burnt!

  3. Then add in the noodles and peas to the butter sauce. Toss to combine.

  4. Add in salt or pepper to taste!
